OVEC began providing GED Testing Services for eligible students in the Fall of 1999 as a service for member school districts. Students may elect to participate in the examination process at the OVEC facilities where testing is scheduled every Tuesday and Wednesday during the third week of the month. Eligible students also have the option to be tested in their county at pre-arranged testing dates if the county can meet the minimum numbers for test administration. The OVEC GED Chief Examiner is available to provide testing at detention centers for inmates and Spanish and large print English Tests are available upon request.
The Chief Examiner coordinates with Adult Education Instructors in Region III and beyond to provide examination services at sites other than OVEC on an as needed basis. A minimum of twelve (12) students participating in the entire battery is required to confirm testing at an OVEC member district site and a minimum of fourteen (14) students participating in the entire battery is required to confirm testing for non-OVEC school districts. Prepayment will be required for testing scheduled outside the OVEC region.
Testing Requirements
Candidates for the examination must have a signed DAEL-6 and a pictured ID that contains name, address, and date of birth and signature of the applicant.
Cost for the entire battery is $30.00 and candidates may take individual test at cost of $6.00 each.
Businesses have the option of scheduling testing on site.
