One part time (35-40 days, approximately 2 days/wk) Early Reading Intervention Specialist sought to work with Lebanon Junction Elementary in Bullitt Co. Specialist will provide direct reading intervention instruction to struggling readers, work side by side with classroom teachers and provide job-embedded professional development for teachers. M.A., high degree of knowledge and experience in early childhood literacy research/practice, and minimum of 3 years Primary level teaching experience required. OVEC has an immediate opening for an Early Head Start Caregiver at our Lebanon Junction Early Head Start classroom. Caregiver will assist the Primary Caregiver with managing the running of the classroom, playground supervision of children, prepare materials for learning activities, guide children in learning activities, assist in providing safe and sanitary environments for children and working with parents in reference to planning for children’s needs. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) within one year of employment. Position is 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 251 days per year. BULLITT COUNTY HEAD START
OVEC has an immediate opening for a Head Start Family Advocate at our Cedar Grove and Brooks Elementary locations. The Family Advocate works in partnership with parents/families to support positive growth through activities such as; home visits, intervention strategies, and/or other supportive methods. Provides individualized advocacy services that promote greater independence, self-improvement, and positive growth. High School diploma/GED required. Experience working with families and community resources and good interpersonal/communications skills are highly desirable. Position is 6.5 hours per day, 185 days per year. Position closes July 1st. ASSISTANT POLICY DIRECTOR
Frankfort-based position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of public school district policies, procedures and other services for assigned districts. Position requires a minimum of a Master’s degree in education or related field (English major/minor preferred); minimum of three (3) years of classroom experience, administrative experience or experience in a related field. Individual must possess exceptional communication, interpersonal and writing skills; experience in planning, organizing and conducting quality presentations; and proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Access preferred). Individual must be a self-starter; have the ability to work under deadlines; and be highly organized and detail oriented. Work involves light travel.
